Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

On Monday we had a chance at a fun field trip. The kids and I drove out to have lunch with my sister and then the four of us hoped the metro and went in to Washington DC to visit the Air and Space museum.

First thing that should be noted is that my sister and her housemates have a trampoline. That and the "balloon mine" which was a pile of balloons from some recent birthday parties that were stuffed behind the sofa and side table to get them out of the way, kept the kids happily busy while lunch was being made.

While we really enjoyed the museum but the time we were leaving the kids were a bit tired and cranky. So we stopped by The National Museum of the American Indian, Washington, D.C
which has a large fountain out front and let the kids get there hands wet. (That by the way is one of the best pieces of advice I can offer to any parent. When you are having a hard time with your child/children just add water. Fountain, bath tub, sink, sprinkler, hose whatever let them play with water for a little while and things will get better.)
